How long does it take?

Training for the BIIAB NCPLH can be finished in one day and is offered by BIIAB approved centres. There are over 600 BIIAB approved centres, across 6,000 venues in the UK. The training is usually followed on the same day by one short multiple-choice exam with 40 questions. Training is supported by the BIIAB NCPLH handbook. This handbook is written in an easy-to-follow and contains all the information needed to pass the exam.

All questions test the knowledge of the person taking the exam. The exam covers all aspects of the law and social responsibilities in relation to the sale of alcohol to the public. By always containing questions relating to the licensing objectives and social responsibilities, the BIIAB NCPLH has the added advantage of acting as a safeguard for the candidate’s personal licence* and their business.
