BIIAB DOUBLE DELIGHT: Over 80% NCPLH Market Share and 6th Largest VQ Awarding Body in England & Wales

25-Jul-2008

Hot on the heels of the nation’s first VQ Day, new figures from the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA) show BIIAB sits way out in front as the market leader for the Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH), with 83.5% market share in the qualification. Furthermore, the Annual Qualifications Market Report issued by QCA places BIIAB firmly in 6th place in the hierarchy of vocational qualifications awarding bodies.

This QCA ranking is all the more noteworthy as it sees BIIAB sitting alongside the likes of City & Guilds, OCR and Edexel, which are major awarding bodies administering vocational qualifications across other, much more mainstream sectors. The report gives special mention to BIIAB as showing a significant growth and helping to contribute to the market expanding in number of achievements awarded by over 270% since 2002.

BIIAB qualifications support the whole of the licensed retail sector and are delivered via a UK-wide network of over 600 approved training centres. The full 40-strong portfolio of qualifications includes the Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing, the Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors, a new suite of catering qualifications and the 14-unit Level 3 Profitable Business Portfolio (incorporating both the Advanced Certificate and Diploma in Licensed Hospitality) to name but a few! The list also includes specific qualifications for Scotland, where law and practice dictates.

Each qualification is developed in conjunction with industry stakeholders to ensure it is relevant, meets the needs of the sector and is fit for purpose. Importantly, BIIAB rigorously pilots every one of its qualifications before finally releasing them for wider use.

These are just some of the reasons why BIIAB enjoys such a huge success and has been acknowledged by QCA as one of the largest and most significant awarding bodies in the country.
