Brief description of organisation:  Vintellect was founded in 2004 by Clare Young, formerly a director of Cockburn & Campbell Limited, the subsidiary wine company of Young and Co Brewery in London.

In this capacity Clare was responsible for implementing dynamic strategies to radically improve wine sales throughout the Young's estate.  The results were met with widespread acclaim since they out-performed the market year in and year out.

For Cockburn & Campbell's corporate and private clients Clare was also responsible for designing and hosting wine tasting events including; food and wine appreciation dinners, original team wine challenges and tours of French and Spanish vineyards.

Now with this experience and proven capability Clare and her dynamic team, headed by wine trainer Emma Maurice, help on-trade businesses increase their wine sales and design highly entertaining wine themed events for both corporate and private clients.

What is 'Max your wine sales'?

'Max your wine sales' is an interactive wine sales and service course designed to give staff designed to give staff the knowledge and confidence to increase sales in the on-trade.

It is available on CD and on-line.

With video footage of real life scenarios, easy to digest facts and figures and cleverly presented graphics this course demystifies wine.

Interactive exercises, including games and quizzes, have been designed to maximise and maintain the individual's interest to ensure the training is effective.

This 2 hour course is designed so individuals may work at their own pace and may exit at any point during a module.  When they return to it, they simply continue from where they left off.  The course may even be completed during quiet periods of scheduled shifts.

At the end of the course, each member of staff will take a short multiple-choice test.  All students acheiving the pass mark of 70% may apply for their Vintellect/BIIAB 'Max your wine sales' certificate.  (This training module does not count towards the BIIAB Operational Skills Certificate.)
