Option 1 Security Opts For BII Membership

One of Scotland’s largest door supervisor suppliers, Option 1 Security, has enrolled 179 of its staff as members of BII, the professional body for the licensed retail industry.

Russel Kerr, managing director of Edinburgh-based Option 1, is so impressed with the level of support and the variety of benefits available from the new BII door supervisor company membership scheme that he wanted his workforce to take advantage!

Staff recruitment and retention are key priorities for Option 1 and, in a climate where good quality door supervisors are highly sought after, it is all the more important for companies such as Option 1 to be known as great to work for. Russel already invests heavily in his staff and he sees BII membership as a credible addition to his employee offering.

BII’s new door supervisor membership category offers a wealth of benefits, including professional status, nationally-recognised qualifications and up-to-date information on legislation and other matters affecting the industry. It also gives access to:

Blueprint Training Solutions, a subsidiary of Option 1 Security, has been approved to deliver qualifications from BII’s awarding body BIIAB since 2005. What’s more, Russel himself sits on the council of BII Scotland so he is very familiar with the business benefits of being involved with BII.

BII door supervisor membership is available in two categories. The basic requirement for either category is passing the Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors or National Certificate for Door Supervisors (Scotland).

Categories and costs are as follows:

Graduate Door Supervisor (no SIA badge) - £39 + VAT with no joining fee

Associate Door Supervisor (with SIA badge) - £39 + VAT plus £25 + VAT joining fee
