This qualification is designed for those new to running, or looking to run, licensed retail premises.

Covers the areas of management responsibility that are essential to run a licensed retail business successfully, these include stock control, employment law, financial management, marketing and merchandising, staff recruitment & training.

Three days or 30 guided learning hours

The qualification consists of 12 sections:

  • Cash security and stock control

  • Catering

  • Customer service

  • Employment law

  • Financial management

  • Gaming and machine income

  • Health and safety at work

  • Recruitment, induction and management of staff

  • Marketing and merchandising

  • Product knowledge & preparation for service

  • Key legislation for retailing responsibly and trading within the law

  • Crime prevention.
