BIIAB Level 2 Certificate In Licensed Hospitality Skills (QCF)

Summary

The qualification has been designed for learners working or wishing to work in job roles such as barpersons (leased, tenanted, managed, wine bar, cocktail bar, nightclub, restaurant staff (waiters, waitresses)and assistant bar managers.

The qualification has been designed to enable learners to develop the key competencies for the Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework for Licensed Hospitality.

Duration

Variable (6 to 12 months) 228 minimum guided learning hours

Details

Mandatory Units:

  • Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment

  • Work effectively as part of a hospitality team

  • Serve alcoholic and soft drinks

  • Maintain and deal with payments


Optional units:

  • Order stock

  • Prepare and clear the bar area

  • Prepare and clear areas for drinks service

  • Promote additional products and services

  • Employment rights and responsibilities (ERR)*

  • Maintain cellars and kegs

  • Clean drinks dispense lines

  • Prepare and serve wines

  • Prepare and serve cocktails

  • Cooking practice

  • Barista skills


*Please note: If this qualification is being taken as part of an Apprenticeship framework, unit – Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) must be completed.
 
Assessment: A mixture of exams and practical assessment
