The qualification is a comprehensive qualification developed for anyone who has responsibility for managing multiple licensed premises,

The BIIAB Level 4 Certificate in Multiple Licensed Premises Management is a minimum 21 credit qualification that consists of 5 mandatory units, at least 2 optional units.


Variable (6 to 9 months) 150 guided learning hours


The qualification consists of the following units:
Mandatory units:

  • Communication In A Business Environment

  • Negotiation Skills and Persuasion in the Workplace

  • Profit And Loss And Budget Control

  • Profit and Loss in Multiple Retail Premises

  • Interviewing Skills in Multiple Retail Management

Optional units:

  • Understanding motivation at work

  • Managing Capital Expenditure

  • Managing conflict

  • Leading and managing meetings

  • Roles and responsibilities of multiple retail managers under the statutory Pubs Code Regulations 2016 and the voluntary Pub Industry Framework Code of Practice

  • Understanding a business market

  • Sales promotion and Merchandising

  • Business planning 


Assessment: A mixture of short written exams and practical assessments
